Lisa Barbieri
I am a PhD student at University of Turin (Italy) working on the study and engineering of [FeFe]-hydrogenases for sustainable biocatalysts production. My research focuses on identifying novel enzymes, optimizing expression and purification, enhancing their stability and catalytic performance through protein engineering.
I am currently conducting part of my doctoral project at Greening Lab, Monash University, gaining expertise in microbiology, isolation of extremophilic strains, and cultivation of strict anaerobes.
Throughout my academic career, I have been constantly involved in scientific dissemination through university outreach projects, including the development of a STEM educational card game that was tested and presented within FEBS Education initiatives
Outside of biochemistry research I am a passionate certified scuba diver instructor and I am collaborating in scientific diving activities with marine biologists.
